 About the Hixon 50

We’re proud to present the seventh annual Hixon 50, now offering four distances: 5K, 10K, 25K, and 50K.

Set in the heart of La Crosse’s lush Hixon Forest, this course offers challenging terrain, technical singletrack, and breathtaking views over the Mississippi River Valley—more than 600 feet above the valley floor.

The Race Within the Race: The Kwik Trip Klimb

This all-day time trial challenge takes place on the final climb of the 25K and 50K distances. Runners will climb ~500 feet of technical trail as they head to the finish line.

Prizes go to the fastest overall male and female climbers of the day.
25K racers come in hot—but 50K runners get two chances to take the crown. Who will climb the fastest?


Race Location

All races start and finish atop the bluffs at Human Powered Trails on County Rd. FA.

Look for the big white weather ball—that’s home base!
Parking will be on the street near the main parking lot (see map below).
